Vein Treatments For The Face
As you age, your skin begins to show the signs of aging in different ways. You may suffer from varicose veins. The veins in your hands may become more visible. But even though your face doesn’t develop varicose veins, it does develop tiny red, purple, and blue spider veins and small telangiectasias (web-like clusters of veins and broken capillaries) that keep your skin from appearing as smooth and clear as you would like. These veins are usually too small to treat with sclerotherapy – the standard treatment we use to minimize the appearance of veins in hands and legs Here in Michigan, the cold weather and tough winters make it tough to protect your skin from the elements, but as you age and your skin thins, these tiny veins and red spots become more noticeable, especially on the apples of your cheeks and nose.
What Options Do I Have For Vein Treatment On My Face?
Our preferred treatment for reducing the visibility of veins and telangiectasias on the face is a procedure called VeinGogh. VeinGogh uses a tiny device that resembles a pen that delivers heat to the area of the vessel just beneath the skin. In many cases, the results are immediate. Any remaining visibility of the vein disappears in time as the body reabsorbs the vein.
Does VeinGogh Hurt?
During your treatment, a topical anesthetic is used to minimize the discomfort caused by a microburst of controlled heat energy that immediately collapses the veins. Patients who have the procedure can immediately resume activities. The procedure is permanent, too. While new visible veins and telangiectasias can form, the ones we remove with the VeinGogh procedure are removed permanently.
