THE STAGES OF VENOUS DISEASE

Stage 1

Spider Veins

Spider Veins are a cosmetic condition that are treated with Sclerotherapy (spider vein injections). Each individual case will be evaluated by a specialist, and treatment will be performed by one of our certified nurses. An ultrasound is not required. Spider veins will not harm you if left untreated and this is not a medically necessary procedure. Non-surgical.

Stage 2

Varicose Veins

Bulging Varicose veins are a medical problem. When veins bulge it means they are under pressure and there is something going on inside of the leg. An ultrasound is necessary and will be done in our accredited facility. Strict protocol will be followed during the Doppler Ultrasound examination to identify troubled veins and create a treatment plan.

Stage 3

ADVANCED VENOUS DISEASE

Swelling, Skin Changes & Ulcers

Chronic venous insufficiency results from severely inhibited blood flow from the legs back up to the heart. When this occurs, blood can pool in the legs resulting in leg ulcers, skin discoloration, and swelling in the legs or ankles. Diagnosing your condition may require a special imaging test, and we have a number of options available to treat your case based on its severity, including blood flow medications, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), or sclerotherapy. The most severe cases may require surgery.

Our minimally invasive treatment options allow for no downtime and no vein stripping. Schedule a consultation today to determine the right treatment option for you.

Radiofrequency Ablation

A catheter is introduced into the vein and delivers radiofrequency energy to the vein wall, causing it to heat, collapse and seal shut.

Sclerotherapy

A solution, called a sclerosing agent, is injected into the veins causing the blood to clot and the vein to scar.

Varithena

A specialized medical foam is injected into the vein and is used to treat varicose veins by closing them and improving leg appearance and comfort.

VenaSeal™

A catheter is inserted directly into the diseased vein and injects the VenaSeal® adhesive to seal the vein.
